Live List.
We've compiled a list of our favorite films of 2018. This isn't just any ordinary list though. This is the type of shit that will change your life and maybe the history of the entire world.
1.
A Futile and Stupid Gesture
In a life full of triumph and failure, "National Lampoon" co-founder Doug Kenney built a comedy empire, molding pop culture in the 1970s. A slapstick look at the life of the man behind Animal House and Caddyshack.

What's the big deal?
David Wain tells a true story in a creative way, creating the kind of the film his subject would have written, although a little sadder.

Thomas Lennon
"If you don't watch this movie, we'll kill Will Forte."
2.
Annihilation
A biologist signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition into a mysterious zone where the laws of nature don't apply. Annihilation exists largely in the realm of metaphor. It’s meant to put you in the same dreamlike state of the characters, offering explanations for what’s happening, but also never announcing its themes as it tries to weave subtext into the narrative.

What's the big deal?
A psychological science fiction horror film as thought provoking as it is visually stunning. It worms its way into your brain and will continue to haunt you long after the Shimmer fades.

Familiar Faces
Natalie Portman
Jennifer Jason Leigh
Tessa Thompson
Oscar Isaac
"It wasn't destroying...
It was changing everything."
3.
All The Money In The World
The story of the kidnapping of 16-year-old John Paul Getty III and the desperate attempt by his devoted mother to convince his billionaire grandfather Jean Paul Getty to pay the ransom.

What's the big deal?
This tragic morality tale unpacks how one stingy man's unfathomable riches nearly destroyed his grandson.

4.
Isle of Dogs
In a dystopian future, an outbreak of canine flu has led to all dogs in Japan being quarantined to Trash Island. Stuck sifting through trash to survive, five disgruntled dogs are ready to make a break for freedom when a young boy named Atari appears on the island, looking for his dog Spots. Atari’s quest leads the dogs on an adventure, bringing them up against the authorities, evil robots, and more.

What's the big deal?
Wes Anderson's ninth film and second foray into stop-motion animation, is as precious, minutely detailed, and magnificently deadpan in its humor as any of his previous work.

Familiar Faces
Bill Murray
Ed Norton
Scarlett Johansson
Bryan Cranston
Jeff Goldblum
"I don't think I can stomach anymore of this garbage."
5.
Phantom Thread
Renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock is at the center of 1950's British fashion. Dressing royalty, movie stars, debutants and dames with the distinct style of The House of Woodcock. Once controlled and planned, he finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by a young, strong-willed woman, Alma, who soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse.

In 1892, a legendary Army captain reluctantly agrees to escort a Cheyenne chief and his family through dangerous territory.

What's the big deal?
Hostiles shows us, viscerally, that hatred and violence in any age are horrible things.

No peace without sacrifice.
7.
